Indie Dance draws heavily on club culture and incorporates a fusion of various rock sub genres with electronic dance music. Indie Dance music usually has a lot of acoustically recorded instruments throughout there music as these artists are genuinely musically trained. Indie artists are often closely identified with their music through a signature style, texture, or fusion of musical elements.

Para-musical content:

Steven was a successful dubstep producer for many years and as had many successful tracks. He has since changed his name and his musical direction since we last herd from him 5 years ago. Artist are disappearing and re appearing more and more often and they refine there sound or work on there album’s. Steven being a talented multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer is now drawing on with wealth of musical knowledge and fusing his to sounds and passions together. Steven is currently an unsigned artist proving that you do not need to be a signed with a big label to get millions of views and record sales. He has also been featured on some of the biggest music blogs including ‘Majestic Casual’ ‘Chill Nation’ and ‘Proximity’ together receiving over 5 million views on his track fly down alone.

As Technology and music production software continue to develop, prices of quality equipment continue to become more affordable. This opens up an opportunity for artists to express themselves in a more professional manner. With a laptop and some technical music knowledge, artists can make there art more easily and it is more accessible then ever.

Aesthetic content:

Stephen wrote this song in a venerable time in his life as portrayed in his lyrics. Perhaps his intention was to make the listener feel that its ok to not feel worthy of someone and its ok to seek help when you need it. He also say’s its ok to feel human and he portrays his sad emotion using a minor key structure.

The first thing we can hear in this track is this beautifully recorded a played acoustic piano. If you listen really closely you can hear the squeak of the sustain pedal witch adds an authentic characteristic to the instrument. Vocals are centred in the mix and are quite raw with minimal processing and reverb. Stephen used these FX to portray himself as venerable. In the bridge section of the track, all instrumentation drops out revealing a saw synth with complex LPF automation that opens up as it leads into verse 2 where the track begins to intensify and build strength.
